The Model
General Assembly (MGA)
program is designed to introduce high school students to
the legislative process of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Selected students represent their schools as executive
officers, senators, delegates, legislative officers, pages,
reporters and lobbyists while debating legislation in committees
and on the floors of the House of Delegates and the Senate
of Virginia. While introducing future leaders to Virginia's
system of government, this program also conveys the importance
of citizen participation and public service.
